Q. How much does the Internet service cost?
A . Wireless:
Home Use (256/512 K) is $39.95
Installation is $149.00Q. Am I able to get cable and/or wireless Internet from your company?
A. Yes, as long as there is enough signal from one of our transmit towers at your location. Our towers are located at Colman, Rowena and Freeman. It is a “line of sight” signal.
Q. How will I know if it will work at my location?
A. Our technicians will test for signal with a meter before a microwave antenna is installed (typically on your roof). If the signal is not strong enough, nothing will be installed and there will not be a cost to you.
Q. Do I need any special equipment for Wireless Internet Service?
A. We provide the modem. You will need a 10/100 Network Card (also called an Ethernet card or NIC card) installed in your computer. Many new computers come with the card already installed. If not, they can be purchased from SV Wireless for $25 plus a $25 install charge. If a customer does not know if they have an network card, they can look on the back of their computer for a spot that looks like an oversized telephone jack.
Q. What operating system will I need to have?
A. You will need an operating system with Windows 2000 or higher or with MAC OS 9.0 or higher.
Q. How will I be billed?
A. We do require a security deposit if you do not meet our credit qualifications. The installation fee and the security deposit will have to be paid that the time of installation. However, if the customer does not need a security deposit, the customer will be billed the installation fee, the prorated amount for the month of installation and the next month’s service.
